The 1st quarter of 2010 has begun on a more positive note for the shipping industry which is recovering after tough conditions in 2009 caused by the global economic crisis. This is confirmed by Alphaliner's snapshot of key port volumes which show a growth of 18.2% compared with the same period in 2009 based on the sample of 18 ports around the world.
